Helping Small Businesses with Back Taxes

Helping Small Businesses with Back Taxes

Those of us born in the 1950’s and 1960’s did not have to go far to find work. Jobs were plentiful when we grew up and working for yourself was the way to go. Our generation is the generation of the self-employed. While our children and the younger generation prepare for college, degrees and mass education most of us started working well before high school and have worked hard our entire lives. It took time, but we have raised our children, made our mark on society and most of us will work long past the age of what we wanted because we wanted our children to have much more than we had.

I started working at a restaurant in high school washing dishes, then cooking, then I was introduced to a saw and hammer. I soon realized that I was more than able of running my own business.  At 19 I was a business owner with a high school diploma. I made more money than all my friends, in fact, I recruited most of them to work with me.

19 years old, I was running a business, making more money than I knew what to do with and have never filed a tax return, kept track of my income or what I spent it on. I just knew there was money left for me and enough of it that I thought I was on the right track.

Soon enough, I was advised that I needed to file a tax return, to pay taxes on the money I was making. I talked to a few of the family friends, a CPA, and an attorney. I realized I needed to set up a business with the State. That to be a business meant more than getting the work, taking the money and paying the bills.

I started to pay my friends using payroll and started to learn what payroll taxes were and how to keep my own accounting of the share of taxes I was to pay as a business owner and how to pay the government the share of my employees Federal Tax withholding. I had a friend that his father was a Tax Attorney, so I went to see him, and I left his home feeling like I should get a job somewhere else. I was so confused by all the information he gave me I had no idea where to turn or what to do. There was no way I would be able to pay State and Federal Taxes for my employees and still make the money I was accustomed to making. I ended up owing back taxes https://fasttaxhelp.org/what-is-tax-resolution/. So off I went to the local IRS building and sat there bewildered and scared to death.

35 years later I now understand as well as anyone the fear of owing money to the IRS and the State Departments of Revenue. I realize know that owing back taxes eats away at the fabric of peoples lives. I am still working for myself, just like a lot of us born in the 1950’s and 60’s. Only today I know how hard it is for a small business that owes taxes, how fast the interest and penalties can add up and how scary it can be to walk into that IRS Office not knowing how I was ever going to come out of that office and pay my own bills ever again. Many years ago, I met a group of Federally Licensed Tax Professionals that have been in business 28 years. They represent consumers and small businesses before the Departments of Revenue and assist people just like you and me with payment plans that do not cost us all we worked for, they help reduce our tax debts and even settle accounts when appropriate https://fasttaxhelp.org/helping-small-businesses-with-back-taxes/.

If you owe taxes to the IRS, if you are great at making money and lousy at accounting, there is a team of family owned and operated Enrolled Agents Licensed by the IRS that is here to help you through the millions of lines of the tax code to get you and your business back on track https://fasttaxhelp.org/2672-2/. Without professional help, I would have had to give up my business. Reach out, get help before you end up losing all you worked so hard to get.
