Tax Relief for the Victims of the Severe Storms in Michigan

The IRS is offering tax relief for the victims of severe storms in Michigan beginning on June 22, 2017. Affected individuals or businesses who reside in Bay, Gladwin, Isabella and Midland Counties and the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe within Isabella County may qualify for tax relief.

The relief allows the IRS to postpone deadlines for taxpayers who reside in or have a business in the affected area. This applies to taxpayers who had filed for an extension or pay estimated taxes or quarterly payroll tax returns.

Affected taxpayers in a federally declared disaster area can also claim disaster-related losses on the fed” at the top of your return in red.
